Conax President & CEO, Morten Solbakken, brings extensive experience within management, strategy/business development and sales, including 12 years of experience within the satellite sector and 5 years from the TV distribution business. Solbakken has extensive international experience working with global satellite operators representing Telenor’s ownership interests in their boards. From 2007 to 2011, he was Chief Strategy Officer in Telenor Broadcast Holding AS (owner of Canal Digital, Telenor Satellite Broadcasting, Norkring and Conax). In March, 2011, Solbakken was appointed COO at Telenor Broadcast Holding, and Chairman of the Boards of Conax, Telenor Satellite Broadcasting and Norkring. Solbakken holds a Master of Science from NTH in Norway, with additional Master of Management and Master of Business Administration courses. Morten Solbakken joined Conax as acting CEO in September 2011 and was made CEO from December 2011.
Joining Conax in January 2016, Daniel brings vast leadership experience from high impact global technology arenas and key executive management positions from leading visionary companies including President in TANDBERG, MD and GM in Cisco and Avaya. An extensive background and impressive track record in sales, marketing, partnerships and strategic alliances includes responsibility for the development of up to 100+ member high-performance sales teams and sales responsibilities exceeding 1 billion USD – cultivating growth strategies for Fortune 100 & 500 accounts in South America, EMEA and Asia. Additionally, he holds pivotal, hands-on experience from M&A integrations at Cisco and AVAYA and active membership in several councils and boards. Daniel’s multicultural background includes living in Europe, Asia and America and five languages. He holds an MSc International Business Administration and Hispanic Studies, University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
Bringing over 10 years’ experience from senior positions within the field of finance, Tomas Øen joined the Conax team in October 2013 and was appointed to the Conax executive management team in February 2015. Tomas brings both broad international experience and focus, including management of teams and companies where growth has been driven by geographical expansion and international acquisitions. Before joining Conax, Tomas worked for over 7 years in leadership positions within the Lindorff Group, including Acting CFO for Lindorff Group and leading a global F&A team of 25 employees and 14 legal entities throughout Europe. Additionally, he brings seven years of experience from KPMG and holds a Master of Business and Administration from NHH in Norway.
With over 20 years of executive management experience within leading international IT and media companies, Tom Jahr has played a vital role in developing the Conax product strategy and positioning Conax as a global provider of next generation security solutions. Tom joined the Conax executive management team in 2011 from GET, a leading Norwegian triple-play (cable-TV, broadband, telephony) company. As Product Director at GET, he drove development of new advanced services such as PVR, VOD, WEB-TV and IPTV. An engineer by trade, Tom studied Telecom Engineering before moving into roles within the entertainment and DVB/IPTV space. Tom enjoys evangelizing, educating and inspiring as well as combining his technical background with commercial thinking.
Joining the Conax executive team in August 2015, German native Oliver Bernau brings broad knowledge of the IT services industry, passion and strong commitment to delivery to Conax’ global team. Drawing on extensive professional experience from key positions at EVRY, EDB, Norsk Hydro and Bearing Point, he most recently headed Engagement Management for one of the Top 3 key accounts at EVRY. Pivotal areas of expertise include customer delivery and commercial responsibility in highly virtual international environments, leadership of Onshore and Offshore teams within management consultancy, bid management, service management and application operations. Oliver also will provide experience and leadership within management of change for new delivery and governance models, development of new services, delivery models and establishment of service management function.
A pioneer in content security and conditional access technology, Tor Helge Kristiansen joined Conax in 1992. He has played a vital role in in the evolving pay-TV industry and the ongoing development of Conax products in complimentary roles as chief developer, software architect, head of security development and VP Product Management – central for all aspects of Conax products and product development. Joining the executive team in 2015, the EVP Principal Architect is a highly complementary function encompassing both a key advisory role for championing strategic planning and a trigger for executing on strategy with long term global trends in mind and a dynamic roadmap. The PA role is central in sparking and driving technology collaboration with other Kudelski Group entities. Tor Helge holds a BSc in Electronics.
Harald Ziegler joined Conax in 2004 and brings more than 15 years’ experience from positions within HR, in companies operating in the global marketplace. Harald holds a Master Degree in Human and Organizational Development from Abilene Christian University, Texas USA and a Bachelor in Business Degree from Norges Handelshøyskole (NHHK). Harald came to Conax from the position as HR Manager in Wallenius Wilhelmesen Lines. He also has experience as Professional Consultant working within the HR field through his employment in NIPA (Norsk Institutt for Personalutvikling og Administrasjon, the predecessor of HR Norway) and in Sales working as a Commercial Real Estate Broker in Catella Eiendoms Consult.
Torstein Gleditsch joined Conax in 1999 as Security Manager and has since then worked withing all aspects of security from network security to the design of cryptographic systems. He was also responsible for making Conax one of the first Companies in Norway to be certified according to the security standard BS-7799. In 2005 he was appointed CSO in Conax in 2005 and EVP in January 2012. Before joining Conax he worked for 8 years as a Senior Scientist in SINTEF working in fields as diverse as high frequency printed circuit board design to immersion cooling of electronic systems. He also has 10 years in the field of the design of high performance computers. Torstein holds a Cand.Scient. Degree in Informatics from the University of Oslo from 1984.
Sutharshan Nadarajah joined Conax in 1997, and has since worked with all aspects of System Development and Engineering from designing to Quality Assurance. During his career in Conax, Sutharshan held different key positions within Development. In 2004, he was appointed Director of System Development in 2005, focusing on software development process & methodology. In 2011, he was appointed Director of System Engineering, responsible for System Integration and Solution development with technology partners. Sutharshan holds a master degree in Computer Electronics from the Narvik University College from 1997. He has also studied Master of Technology Management program from NTNU and MIT Sloan.
Thomas Blichfeldt joined the Conax global organization in 2002 contributing with key roles and expertise within the international Pre-sales team until 2007 when he became a part of the strategic sales team. Working closely with a broad range of customers in the EMEA market, Thomas was appointed VP EMEA Sales in 2010. Since that time he has provided a strong contribution to the development and continuity of Conax business in the vast and varying needs of the EMEA regions, including leading responsibility for the teams and business in Russia, Northern, Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa. He holds a Bachelor in Computer Science.
Rohit Mehra is responsible for driving all Conax sales and business development across Latin, Central and North America. With 15 years in the Broadband and pay-TV business in areas ranging from Technology, Operations Support, Pre Sales and Strategic Sales, Rohit joined Conax in 2003 as Head of Operations & Support in India. He has been a key driver in Conax Americas operations for over 10 years, including bringing and establishing Conax and its content security solutions into the North American Cable market. From forging key partnerships, increasing brand recognition and launching the first Conax signature Xtend multiscreen solution, Rohit has been instrumental in developing some of Conax’ largest and most advanced customers. He holds a Bachelor in Electronics.
Hans Kwaaitaal has 25 years of experience within the telecoms and broadcast industries, including responsibility for driving Telecoms services in Northern Europe, Asia Pacific activities and Strategic Partner Relations globally at Conax. With a broad background in operator and client device relations, during the last decade he has developed extensive knowledge and expertise within Set-top-box and client device security and plays a key role in connecting and advising operators, content providers and client device providers. Hans is a Dutch national, previously lived in China, South America, US and currently resides in Oslo, Norway. He holds a degree in Telecommunications.
