One-way function

Function that is relatively easy to compute but significantly harder to undo or inverse.

OpenCable

A CableLabs project with the goal of helping the cable industry deploy interactive services over cable. See www.opencable.com

OpenCAS (interface)

Used for communication between the VOD server and the CA-system components.

OpenTV middleware

Middleware used in STBs. See www.opentv.com.

OCAP

Defines a set of common application interfaces, data formats, and protocols for interactive cable devices, allowing cable operators, content providers, and consumer electronics manufacturers to write applications one time that will run on all OCAP compliant devices. See also CableLabs and OpenCable.

Offline PPV

The consumer can consume a number of media files without having a return channel to perform ordering. Ordering will be performed when the consumer's media client gets online.
