Essel Group, India

Essel Group's launched Dish TV, India's first and fastest growing DTH satellite television service, in 2003. In a short span of time, Dish TV has established itself as the leading content provider in India, bringing to viewers a new era of premium digital quality TV viewing experience.

Platform: Essel Group uses a DTH satellite platform.

Region: The system's satellite footprint stretches across the Indian subcontinent and Saarc.

Subscriber figures: Dish TV had by end of 2006 a total subscriber base of 1 million, a number which is expected to grow to 5 million by end of 2009.

Conax CAS7 features
The distribution of content is available as a DTH service over KU Band and as a DTO service over C Band. Dish TV now employs Conax CAS7. Key features include messaging, ECM based fingerprinting of broadcasts, SMS Mobile Ordering, daily authorization logs, audits of viewership and other features. Technology partners include Scopus at the head-end, OpenTV for Middleware, Handan and Kaon Media for STBs.


ITI Group, Poland

The ITI Group is Poland's leading media and entertainment group. Their new generation television offering, branded “n“, was launched in October 2006. The "n" programming offer includes 7 different thematic packages, consisting of more than 200 of the most popular general entertainment and news channels of both international and Polish origin.

Platform: ITI’s digital premium TV services is accessible through satellite platform, and "n" was the first in Poland to offer three channels, broadcasted in HD standard. The services are distributed in both MPEG4 and MPEG2 format. Additionally, the "n" platform offers SVOD (Subscription VOD) with a push PVR technology. The STBs are from ADB offering a mix of zapper STBs, and high end STBs with 250 Gb hard drive. ITI uses Tandberg head-end.

Region: Mainly Poland.

Subscriber figures: The launch is a success in Poland.

Conax CAS7 features
Conax supplies the security and subscription solutions. ITI Group is using the Conax CAS7 Core, as well as EPG sourced from TVN, their sister company. The STB is from ADB and has gone through Conax’s extensive security evaluation.
