KPN, The Netherlands

KPN is the sole Dutch DTT operator and finished their rollout in 2003. KPN offers digital television and radio by means of the ether. The reception area of KPN, will in 2007 be the total of the Netherlands, offering digital television and radio.

Platform: KPN is using a DTT platform to bring digital television to the Netherlands using the DVB-T standard.

Region:
In and around the large cities of Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam, Amersfoort and Utrecht, 2.7 million households can today receive radio and television by using the ether.

Subscriber figures: KPN started with 1,3 million households in April 2003 (at that time Digitenne) . Their reception area grows rapidly. In 2007, the whole of Netherlands can watch television digital by means of the ether. The number of Pay-TV subscribers are 250.000.

Conax CAS7 features
Conax enabled KPN to launch their services with Conax CAS7 conditional access system. The users can choose between a numerous numbers of STBs in the Dutch market.
