For management and playout of any data to STBs

In an environment where new service concepts are derived and old ones adjusted, the way to ensure sufficient flexibility for introducing new and upgrading existing services is to include in the STBs the possibility to upgrade all STB SW system, application software and application specific information, e.g. XML formatted info, via the broadcast signal.

This requires a function on the transmit side that can include STB software, application software and application specific information into the broadcast signal. Conax CAS7 Data Playout Manager implements this function.
