Conax CAS7 DVB over IP

Conax CAS7 is designed for use in IPTV operations where MPEG2 Transport Streams (MPEG2-TS) are the main carrier for transmission of the audio/video signal.

The MPEG2-TS can carry MPEG2/MPEG4/H.264/AVC compression and encoding in both standard format (SD) and High Definition (HD) format.

Conax CAS7 for IPTV works on MPEG-TS layer both for the scrambling/encryption of the content and conditional access protocol (ECM and EMMs). The concept is based on proven, standardized and world-wide deployed technology. A number of open standardised third party IP Streamers and DVB scramblers are available supporting DVB Simulcrypt. This prevents the Digital TV operator to be locked in by a DRM vendor's proprietary ciphers and encryption format. Also, using low cost DVB chipset for descrambling and decoding reduces the price of IPTV STBs substantially.
